Application Evaluation & Transition Subcommittees
Bishop Applications Received — Transition Committee Prepares
May 13, 2026
As the Bishop Search and Nominating Committee begins its momentous and multi-stage task of prayerfully evaluating the applications of those who have felt the call to put their names forward for consideration as our next bishop, the Election and Transition Committee is busy at work helping to plan and/or facilitate the events that are vital parts of the search and election process which will take place over the coming months.
The Election and Transition Committee is tasked with such responsibilities as handling communications and coordinating logistics about those events – the nominee Meet-and-Greet sessions, the Election Convention, and the Ordination liturgy. In addition, the committee is charged with providing support for the new bishop-elect and their family, overseeing the budget associated with the search process and its various events, and it will have a role in the Farewell event to honor Bishop Rob for his service to our Diocese.
The committee is already at work organizing the Meet-and-Greet sessions where the members of every congregation in the Diocese will have an opportunity to hear from each of the candidates. These events will be held in the early fall in different locations around the Diocese. The locations, together with the dates and times as well as the formats for these gatherings will be announced in the coming weeks.
The committee is likewise involved in handling the initial planning for the Ordination-Consecration liturgy which will take place next March 6, 2027.
The Election and Transition Committee is subdivided into 12 subcommittees which will carry out the detailed logistical planning and execution which the complex Bishop Election process entails.
The committee earnestly encourages any church members from wherever in the Diocese to join the committee in assisting in the work of these subcommittees:
